Hokey religions and ancient weapons....

Friday night a few friends of mine joined me for a birthday celebration where we consumed many drinks. The conversation was very high brow as we discussed important issues such as the proper usage of 'meteorological'. After more alcohol flowed an important debate followed that has us all pondering.

It was asked of us who we would rather be, a Jedi or Superman. Most chose the man of steel as he can pretty much do anything. I chose otherwise.

Why would someone choose not to be almost invincible? Partially because of the lightsaber, cause that's just the coolest weapon ever. Not only could I levitate objects, slice open any surface, leap to great heights, but the one thing that the last son of Krypton can't do is mind control.

Oh yeah. The weak minded would find themselves giving generously to each and every whim I so desire. I could order someone to jump into a cage and fight a cougar. Ridiculous wars would end. My bank would think it's a great idea to pad my account with heir CEOs' bonus checks. Ashton Kutcher would stop starring in films. A certain actress would suddenly find herself completely head over heels for me.

Oh yeah I could go on.

You'd think at this age my birthday celebrations would have more mature conversations, but alas I wouldn't have it any other way.

I'm such a dork.

If Jedi's could control the weak-minded, how did the prequel trilogy ever get made? Wouldn't they have used the force to prevent those three films from seeing the light of day.

That's pretty cool...even I can appreciate, although I think the light saber is a phallic symbolism ;)
