Thursday Music

Before the advent of MTV one was often left to ponder what an artist looked like. Many one hit wonders came and went before anyone had a chance to see what kind of performance they might receive had they heard it live. It was as I remember a confusing time. When I first heard 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' I automatically assumed Nirvana sported the look of your typical metal band, because it sounded pretty heavy to me. Since I didn't have a television at the time a long time passed before I was educated in the ways of the grunge look.

Recently I was made aware that 'We Don't Have to Take Our Clothes Off' was actually sung by...wait for it...a guy. For years I heard this song assuming it was a female behind the vocals, but I was wrong as I have been many times before. It's only because of the wonder that is Youtube that I am aware of Jermaine Stewart's gender.

Regardless it's not a good song, but that doesn't matter. It hearkens me back to a time where one listened without prejudice.

Since I'm on a roll with this bad music thing I bring you a terrible cover of this tune sung by three hot girls. For some reason there are a bunch of naked men in this video so it entertains both my male and female readers.

"Don't be afraid to speak your mind. You must respect your own opinion before others respect it." - Jermaine Stewart
