Thursday Music

We all have guilty pleasure music. Yes you once boogied down to Snow's 'Informer'. You loved it too.

There are those guilty pleasures which skirt the line of quality. We can't help but listen to some bands and wonder if they'll become the new Limp Biskit or Creed. Actually for those of you who still insist on listening to Nickleback, for whatever reason, you can be sure that someday you'll be just as ashamed of subjecting yourself to their bag of suck as you were when you cleaned out your closet and found your C&C Music Factory album.

Still I'm surprised that some bands are considered by many to be tools. I missed the memo that said you must hate the already mentioned Creed. Not that I was ever a big fan, but damn there was far worse music out there. I can't wrap my head around the fact that the masses haven't risen up and cried no to the world's loudest boy band Lynkin Park yet, but I digress....

I'll probably hate myself for listening to this at some point:

"I think everything worked out the way it was supposed to. Mark's happier. I'm sober. There are still phone calls to be made, people I need to say something to. But everyone from Creed who I've offended or hurt, I ask for their forgiveness." - Scott Stapp

Wow, that video seems like a combination of "Blondie" & "4 Non Blondes" meets "Thriller" & "Billie Jean".

I don't judge people on their musical likings. At least they have an opinion.

I have no guilty pleasures in music. I am proud of all the music I rock out too. Even White Town's Your Woman. That song is awesome. Just plain awesome!

And I have never, never, never boogied to Snow's Informer. I knew it was crap when I was 12 years old. (Or however old I was the first time I heard that piece of crap. C'mon, Canadian white guy reggae, c'mon!)

I'm not ashamed of my "embarassing" musical taste as per others...I quite enjoy Nickelback ha!

I kind of like them...reminds me of "Walkin' in L.A." a bit. I like "Maps" better, but...

Of the lame rock bands you mentioned (Limp Bizkit, Nickleback, Creed) Creed is the only one who doesn't have a single song I like at all. I would gladly stab Scott Stapp in the eye.

And I'm pretty sure you are the one who had to explain to me who Snow was and what "Informer" was.

Informer was a good song. If I like a song, I say it... I don't care how many "she's crazy" looks I get.

I find it a bit pathetic when people try to rouse hatred for a band, if you don't like then, then fine, don't listen. We want so strongly for people to see things the way we do. I guess if it not politically correct to hate on race or religion, hating on a band is the next best thing.

On the other hand, for some reason it is really fun to hate something passionately - I hate the Yankees and especially all their Non-New York state living front-running fans.

I don't know where I'm going with this comment. I don't think liking a cheesy band or type of music in the past is anything to regret or feel embarrassed by, tastes change.
